Lot 264 is one of six lots crafted by Stephanie Smart of the House of Embroidered Paper. This lot was inspired by the garments of Napoleon Bonaparte, and contains words written by the leader in his surrender letter and in correspondence with his wife Josephine. Meticulous detail, in-depth research and hours of painstaking quilling and crafting creates this captivating and thoughtful artwork.
Lot 195, three lengths of seventeenth century tape lace

This lot is one of nearly thirty lots of European antique lace, much of which dates to the seventeenth and eighteenth century, including bobbin and later machine lace from Brussels, France and Italy, hailing from a remarkable collection.
Lot 323, black chiffon 1920s/1930s dress with beaded detail

for her starring role in 1945 film 'I'll Be Your Sweetheart'

Embroidered with sequins all over, this was produced for the Gainsborough Pictures film by famous costumier B. J. Simmons & Co., with the movie poster featuring an image of Margaret Lockwood wearing this outfit. It was an uncommon musical endeavour for the studio, produced at the height of Lockwood's fame in Britain just before the conclusion of the Second World War.
