Lot 382, this near photorealistic portrait is amongst over one hundred and twenty picture lots, with a particularly strong watercolour section in this particular sale.
Owen Scrubey Cotswold School Arts & Crafts dining table and chairs

Est. £1000-1500

Designed by Cotswold School craftsman Owen Scrubey, this Arts and Crafts table is complete with six trellis back dining chairs. Scrubey's furniture is also in the collection of the Wilson Museum, Cheltenham.


Chinese lidded vase

Est. £100-150

With a double ring mark to the base, this is one of countless lots of pottery in our Asian collectables section, decorated in classic blue and white.


Central Persian Kashan cream ground carpet

Est. £1000-1100

A handmade Persian carpet, embellished with a large central floral medallion enclosed by hanging baskets and floral pattern to a floral border, bright and appealing.


Henri Leopold Levy, Portrait of a gentleman

Est. £400-600

Active in nineteenth century France, Levy was best known for his mythological subjects, as well as for his murals completed in Paris' Pantheon and Church of Saint-Merri. This is a thoughtful oil on canvas.


German (Carl Thieme) porcelain flower encrusted comport

Est £100-150

Thieme was a producer of Dresden porcelain in the late nineteenth century; this is an excellent survivor decorated with three flower encrusted tree stump supports applied with three putti, on flower-encrusted base.


1930's silver teapot, a silver salt and a silver-coloured small toast rack

Est. £250-350

The salt is hallmarked Birmingham 1898, the teapot Birmingham 1930. One of numerous lots of jewellery, EPNS and silver.


1969/1970 Oliver Morel Cotswold School walnut oval dining table with set of eight Oliver Morel Cotswold School walnut dining chairs

Est £2500-3500

Designed by Morel for a childhood friend, the furniture is accompanied by extensive letter correspondence written during the planning and production of the pieces. Later lots by Morel commissioned by the same friend include a sideboard and rack.



Jennifer Durrant (b.1942) 'Nearing the End', oil on canvas

Est. £800-1200

And the final lot in our picture section is a modern oil on canvas, particularly noted for its size, being 3.2m x 2.6m!
